Hello and welcome to Shoreham Hypnobirthing

My name is Vicki and I am a hypnobirthing practitioner. I am also the proud mum to three hypnobirthing babies.
Before falling pregnant with my first son, I think I had the view that birth is painful and something to be feared. However, early on in my pregnancy I started to challenge these views and this is when I came across hypnobirthing. The more I read the more it began to make sense to me. Having grown up on a farm I was so used to seeing animals give birth and began to question why it is any different for humans than any other mammals.

I excitedly signed up for a hypnobirthing course with my partner. After the first session exploring the history of birth and the science behind it, I was hooked! I left each session with a 'lightbulb' moment and was talking about hypnobirthing to anyone who would listen. My partner began quite sceptical, however we left each session more and more excited to practise the skills we were learning. I felt like the relaxations helped me to connect with both my partner and my baby. I no longer felt afraid to give birth - something I never thought I'd say.

Three years on, and two positive births later, I decided to train as a KGHypnobirthing practitioner to help other couples to have a positive birth experience. Hypnobirthing is now listed on the Worthing hospital maternity notes as one of the methods for pain relief therefore hopefully more and more women are hearing about how to change their births. Hypnobirthing just makes sense to me. It is simply listening to your body, understanding the physical process and using relaxation techniques to release fear.
